Many customers choose to send their instruments by courier or post, which can often be far cheaper and less stressful than travelling to the workshop. If you decide to do this, please note that many delivery companies do not insure musical instruments. Those that do will almost certainly require proof that the instrument was packed correctly if you need to make a claim, so be sure to take plenty of dated photographs during the packing process.

When sending an instrument from within the UK, Royal Mail Special Delivery offers the option to purchase additional insurance of up to £2,500.00. Packing your instrument in a strong cardboard box, tightly wrapped in bubble wrap and without its case, makes it lighter and therefore less expensive to send, while also preventing movement inside the case.
